Films include:

AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, 1981, Universal, 97 min. Dir. John Landis. A horror masterpiece by writer-director John Landis that is both funny and tragic. Two American college kids (David Naughton and Griffin Dunne) are attacked by a werewolf while backpacking through Europe; the one who survives quickly realizes the horror is just beginning when the spirit of his dead friend appears and warns him that he, too, soon will be howling at the moon. Rick Baker's Oscar-winning makeup effects help shape one of the scariest movies ever made.

POPCORN, 1991, Synapse Films, 91 min. Dir. Mark Herrier. When a group of film students stage an all-night horrorthon at an abandoned movie palace, they include a bizarre short film called “The Possessor,” whose creator killed his family. Maggie (Jill Schoelen) has been having frightening dreams that seem to be connected to the short, and as the festival proceeds, she and her friends are stalked by a mysterious killer. This entertaining mix of old-fashioned creature features and ’80s slashers boasts a great cast including Dee Wallace Stone, Tony Roberts and Ray Walston.

THE TINGLER, 1959, Sony Repertory, 82 min. Vincent Price stars as a scientist who believes fear can cause a hideous parasite – dubbed "The Tingler" – to grow on the human spinal column at moments of greatest terror. William Castle’s wildly inventive B-movie shows what can be done with a great hook, no-nonsense direction – and the amazing Vincent Price in the lead!

HACK-O-LANTERN, 1988, 87 min. Dir. Jag Mundhra. The attention Grandpa (Hy Pyke) has been lavishing on young Tommy (Gregory Scott Cummins) is not benign - the old man is grooming him to take over a Satanic cult when he grows up. The boy’s brother grows up to become a cop - but can he put an end to the pitchfork killings that seem to swirl around Tommy? This low-budget shocker is peppered with gore, nudity and even a heavy-metal video to keep things interesting.

SHOCKER, 1989, Universal, 109 min. Dir. Wes Craven. Prolific serial killer Horace Pinker (Mitch Pileggi) is finally caught thanks to college football player Jonathan Parker (Peter Berg), who witnesses some of the murders in his dreams. Pinker is sent to the electric chair but that doesn’t stop him - he becomes an evil entity moving between bodies through electricity, and he’s got Parker on his hit list.

BRAINSCAN, 1994, 96 min. Dir. John Flynn. TERMINATOR 2’s Edward Furlong stars as Michael, a teen loner who plays a new interactive video game and is horrified to discover the killing that took place in the game has spilled over into real life. Frank Langella costars in this surprisingly effective sci-fi chiller.

40th Anniversary! DEATH BED: THE BED THAT EATS, 1977, 77 min. Dir. George Barry. After a woman dies on a bed while making love to a demon, the bed comes to life with a hunger for human victims (including the film’s narrator, an artist trapped in a painting). Whatever you do, don’t sleep through this surreal cult favorite!

Special Horrorthon prices: General $25, Student/Senior $23, Members $20 - includes all-night food and coffee. No vouchers.
Screening format: 35mm for all films except DEATH BED: THE BED THAT EATS (DCP)
